2.5k midi record trouble

Im having a really anoying midi problem, i have my 2.5k midi out connected to my synth input & the synth output connected to the input A midi in on the 2.5k, both us=nits are reciving midi, but when i record i only get partial segments of what i played in, it was working fine a few days ago.

anyone got any advice?

and another thing, when i use the 2.5k pads to play the synth, i dont hear anything unless i press two pads at once, this is wierd!

I'm having a similar problem. I can record what I play on my Motif es6 onto a track on the 2500. no problem. from here I can set a midi channel to have the midi played back into the Motif ES, as if I'm using it as a sound module or... I can set the midi to playback triggering a multisample sound inside the 2500.

two problems:

1. if I choose to played the midi into the Motif as a sound module. muting the track on the 2500 does not fully mute the midi. its like a few ghost notes will still play very softly.

2. if I choose to use a sample inside the 2500. Select the sample, choose autochromatic.....it works. but the notes created by the autochromatic feature does not correctly line up with the correct notes on the keyboard. Example: a "Middle C" on the keyboard..will not be the "Middle C" created with autochromatic. I must be doing something wrong.
But the preset multisample sounds I got from "MPC Samples" work correctly.

I am having problems with the midi triggering ghost notes when the track is muted.

I am also having problems with autochromatic feature.

O.S. 1.21



1st problem:

I connect the 2500 to my Motif ES6 keyboard so that I can record midi info into the 2500. The midi info is then played back from the 2500 into the Motif ES6 just as I recorded it. ( Like using the Motif as a sound module).

Type: MIDI

Midi: 1A (or whatever channel the ext sound is on)

.......But when I mute the midi track, the 2500 will still play several ghost notes of what was record recorded. Sounds like audio bleed. The only way to stop it is the turn the volume on the Motif Es to "0" or change "Midi: 1A" to "Midi: OFF"

2nd problem:

I load a sample into the 2500, and enable the autochromatic feature which spreads the notes out over the midi keyboard. But the notes do not match up correctly with the correct keys on the keyboard. I load a string sample with the pitch of "middle C" and when the autochromatic feature converts it...the original note is no long "middle C".
I must be doing something wrong.

Have you heard anything on that track mute issue???

Turning off continuous sample track should get rid of those 'ghost notes' you are talking about.

I have also had problems with the MPC not recording exactly what I played back using a MIDI keyboard. I reported this to Akai when I used OS 1.2. I will play around tonight to see if I have the same problems with OS 1.21.

Thanks for the help. My continuos sample was off but my mute/stop of one shot sample was on immediate and it should have been on through.. thanks alot!!!!!!!!! You pointed me in the right direction...
