Crate Organization

What up yall?! I was trying to search for a thread on this but I wasn't able to find exactly what I was looking for... I just started diggin' [so it's not like I have a vault of rare vinyl or anything] but I was just wondering if you guys sort your crates? And if you do, do you sort it by alphabetical order? or by genre? year? etc... I know some DJ's sort them by BPM as well... but, how do YOU guys prefer to sort YOUR crates? I'm just asking...

I sort by genre. All the hip hop together, all the jazz together, all the funk togther and so on. My collection isn't that big where I can't find something quickly. I'd imagine some guys on here with big collections have some sort of methodology.

I sort by genre, then alphabetical, then by what I've used and haven't used. Real simple like.

i organise into hip hop, then everything else. Both arranged alphabetically

Albums... by genre and alphabetical.
12 inches... by genre, BPM and then alphabetical.

Alphabetically all the way through.

I sort by genres, than Artists in alphabetical order and the records of an artist by releasedate (Year)

genre and alpha too. also I dont mix my bull$h!t records with the good ones..those dont even get sorted, except into the bull$h!t pile.

All of my shit is a mess. I have to go through like 15 crates and sort it all out. I'm gonna hate but I really should do it now before it gets too outta hand.

I'm gonna try by genre and then alphabetical too.

hahaha! i feel the same way... and guess what, i only have 5 crates - yet i'm too lazy to sort it! lol... no but honestly, i should take the time and at least sort them alphabetically or something... but it's nice to see everybody's preference...
