okay I just bought this MPC3000 from Ebay...for 1200 dollars...
pretty good deal...

but./..
I turned it on, and I noticed that ALL the lights are on...
all 4 banks for example...when I press the bank key nothing seems to change...
what up with that??

Furthermore, it seems like the pads are ALL defective, but that seems a bit strange since it's an MPC3000 and it's built like a tank....
for example , when I go to ASSIGN SAMPLE and press a pad, normally it would change the number to the pad just pressed....but nothing changes...

Is it broken or am I just stupid>??>

Before you contact anyone else, you should connect with the person who sold it to you and also look at the box. Werethere some damages to the shipping box. Could be damaged in shipping or a lemon. If you can return it, do so. If not, then forat or the other akai repair spot vst tech would help you. But, since you just bought it, that ain't cool to me. It seemed like a nice deal. But, when you add on the additional repair costs, the price may be far more than you would have paid.

good luck. I've been there before myself.

Always be weary of low priced MPC's... like my old teacher used to say in high school, "IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT USUALLY IS..."

open up the mpc and locate a disc shaped battery next to the ram simms. ground it by touching both sides with your fingers. turn it back on and see if it's reset
