hey. I changed a few things around. This way has made me more creative and is easier to work this way. everything is within arms reach now and I am able to hear better (somehow..). i wish you could see everything better, but oh well.

yeah imma be gettin at you about this whole midi thing. im really diggin that 02r, i was also lookin at the dm-24 by tascam i think. i dont know if you looked at getting that when you were in the market for a digital mixer. if you were, what made you want the 02 over the dm-24?


Yo skmagnum I had the DM-24, yo man the TC effects were hot to deaf. But it went bonkers on me, sold it went and got me an O2R because when It first came out I wanted it, it was to much, then I got this one and it was a wrap. The O2R is a classic board, it's warm and it operates just how I like it, and the effects I love, plus it take a lot of ins in it and I love that. But I am going to step up the the O2R-24/96, oh my Gawd that piece is off the chain, it has an effect in there that i love and it's going to change my sound and have people loving and wanting it. It's just a beautiful board. Tascam dm24 is a bit querky to use you have to set up stuff before you can use it so beware...... I can't trust Tascam again when it comes to boards. I love the straight 24 channels you get on the O2R only four is stereo which is good for my needs. I aint trying to tell you what to get but you might wanna look into Yamaha digital boards, I trust them when it comes to digital boards, so check that out . peace


im feelin the battle track!! that 02r-24/96 is like $9000!!! damn!! i aint ballin like that, i was lookin more in the $1000-1500 range for a digital mixer. i think id buy pro tools HD wit cheese like that!! im military, 9 thow-wow is a little less than 1/3rd i make a year, hahaha!! i got this good college degree i got while i been in here, maybe it will afford me the ability to cop one of those joints one day...also, i only see 16 faders on the 02r that you have, so how is it 32 inputs? can i have, say, the mpc and the fantom hooked into the channel 1 slot, control the level on the mpc then hit a button and then im controling the fantom with the same fader?

Peace KO'LES, nice set up I see you rockin three keyboards, that black one is that a MSR ? or whatever they call it.

Smoove nah your joint looks cool, that's how I have mine easy to reach everything. You do it for you and how you work but nice real nice, what type of mixing board is that?

Nah the O2R has 16 independent channels with four stereo that equals out to 24 tracks it's like this:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,12,12,13,14,15,16,-17/18-19/20-21/22-23/24

So it is 24 tracks brother.

Nah why would you put the Fantom and MPC in one input? You can't do that. The MPC I use has 8 outs, so I use 8 outs plus two stereo tracks which equal to 10 tracks all on my mixing board dedicated to the MPC. My, lets say XV 3080 has two tracks(13/14) dicated to only the 3080. Once each one has their own dedicated channels yes you can play them at the same time, if you have them midi together which I don't then you can rock. I hope that helped.

I understand your financial plight. For $1500 you should be able to get something decent. Don't get a wack company like Berringer try to stay in the maybe Yamaha or Mackie type boards bro. and get the one that has enough channels incase you want to expand don't get 12 channel board if you know you are not going to be satisfied

thanks a lot man. yea it makes a big difference. i have wheels on my chair, but i also have carpet on my floors which made it hard to move around. so I wanted everything surrounding me so i didnt have to move much. so anyway, my setup is pretty basic.

the rack has an s5000, planet phatt and jv880 in it right now.

8) Peace Smoove I heard that but you have a nice tight set up that's how I love my preproduction setup, that's why I have mines that way. I notice you have S-series Akai under your turn table, so do you chop your turn table stuff with that then put it on a floppy and transfer it to the MPC2000xl ? I do all my chopping in Protools or recycle, oh my goodness it's lovely, then I put it on a disk and put it in the MPC and bring them up on a pad.

Oh, okay. I couldn't read the brand.
I don't know if they still make SANSUI stuff. It was a home aduio line, but it was the $h!t back in the day.

yea no doubt man. i actually use adobe audition to chop my samples up. i have not used the s5000 for chopping YET. only for the filters and to tweak a few things about the sounds. i admit i have not gotten deep into it just yet. i want to sample into it sometime soon to hear the difference in the sound quality. when i sample from my turntable i usually sample into adobe audition or my mpc. chop it up in the computer, then send the samples to disk and load them up either directly into the mpc or into my s5000...peace man
