'zone' in 'trim' function...need help understanding.

what's the purpose of the 'zone' window in the 'trim' function??
I know that you can set the number of zones from 1-16, but I've yet to figure out the purpose.. can anyone shoot some advice regarding the 'zone' function??

Here's some advice......
Read the manual.
After you do that, if you still dont understand it and have questions......
Read the manual.
If you still dont know whats up after that.....
Sell your MPC.
Look at Pg. 103 and read the first sentence!!!!!!!!!

watched pete again an again.
took a while, but now i figured out.
for me its a new way of production,
good to know howto.
i love to play around with my pads,
more than ever.
but as pete says, its just one method
of so many to produce on the mpc.

CAn this feature of chopping be utlized through the MPC 2000 as well??? Just was wondering because the XL has a few extra features that the MPC 2000 doesn't have ya know.

The Zone feature on the MPC is for chopping sounds. You can record a certain section of a record you like then you can chop into 1 to 16 and lay them on the pads and Rock the chopped parts you want'. They basically got this idea from Recycle but recycle is like 40 times better at choppin and can spread it across the keys, it's mean bruh, but that's what it does. Try it out play with it you might learn a style from it.

Yes, it does, I think, because I had the 2000 first then upgraded, 2000 didn't have time stretch which is trash to me. 2000xl has automation also I don't think the 2000 has that. just check you will see the zone when you go in to see the wave sample if u don't see it then it's not there.
