1000 OS: interesting story.

I kid you not, this happened.

A while ago, when I upgraded my OS, I listened to older joints that I had done, and I immedietly heard the difference in imrovement in the machines timing. Things did sound better.

Maybe 3 weeks later, I start new projects, and Im starting to realize, im starting to hear the same crappy sluggishness the machine had previously.

So today I presed window before turning on the machine, and re-loaded the new OS, to replace itself. I listened to a couple of joints that I knew had issues, and they seemed nicely improved in areas that previously were poor. But this only seemes to last for a period of time.

I dont know what knocks it back to the old poor timing isues, but its gotta be something.

how much weed yo smokin guy? I have mad hours on my2500 machine and have not noticed anything like this. Next time record it so you have a point of reference.

you are dealing with a internal software issue. There still bug issues that is being worked on as were speaking. But that's interesting.

yeah i know. thats the only wish I ever had with this machine,...if only it were tight tight. I never really cared about those other upgrades (eventhough they are great). I really stuck it out with this machine, but it looks like im going to have to start making preparations to get a different MPC.

Sorry I dont have proof, I guess its just one of those take my word for it or not situations. But im no newby to beat machines, and production. back in 2000 I remember first being exposed to my cuzins MP2000 with the Roger Lynn signature on it. I never could afford one back then, But I strictly remember that all we ever did was take my original music from off a cassette, (mind you the music I played from keyboard had no quantize feature, and im not even a great player so note timings WERE sloppy here and there, but not too bad) run it into the MP, and then use the mp's drums to smack a beat to. That's all no more no less, and the beat ws smooth as butter.

Comparitively it takes a whooole lot more work for me to try and get marginally close to recreating that feel on my 1000. Note; i've still never gotten that feel, but just to get close is a whole bunch of B.S.
