how do you delete something that you just overdubbed?

? i cant figure it out.. it's so annoying.. sometimes I end up erasing the whole sequence and I have to start over.

another thing is.. sometimes when I want to entirely erase the whole sequence.. how do I do that?

each sound/sample is supposed to get it's OWN track within the sequence.

If you run into a problem with something then you edit/alter/delete THAT track only.

If u recording all on one track then when u go to erase press the pad with the sound that u want erased/cleared and it will ONLY erase/clear that sound from the track.

I recommend u use individual tracks which makes it easier to erase/delete.

you press "undo seq". that erases everything recorded since the last time you pressed "stop".

I find it's important to press stop everytime I record a sound I'm happy with.
So I can carry on and if I want to undo another recording, it'll only undo back to that point. I learnt this the hard way. And yes, it's important to use a new track for each element.

Hold ERASE + the pad of the sound you want to delete

blackhole - are you recording everything onto 1 track?
you're using the 1k like an SP, man
use those tracks, you'll not regret it.

Step edit as well....

The ONLY time I use a track for more than one sound is when I start with kicks and snares to get a better realtime feel when creating, then later seperate into their own tracks, Other than that, eack sound/sample gets their own track.

follow Lamps advice below and read the manual.

well I don't have time to do a search right now.. the search function doesn't come up with great results... but ..
how do you sample things from the computer? what outputs do you have to connect? I cant figure that out.

Sound card out to MPC in.

Or just transfer a WAV file from the PC to the MPC.

Transfer wav files to your mpc from your computer by using the USB port, and it saves to your flash card. Then upload it from there

or plug a Y-cable into your headphone jack on ur comp and sample it like u would with a turntable
