Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

just small things I'd like to see change in the 4k OS mentality

when you go into sample/trim mode you should automaticly jump to the sample you last played with! i.e the last pad you pressed, this can be accived if you go into sample list mode in program, but it really is just extra paper work, I'd like this to be automatic !! (or prehaps its inconvinet for some users?) agree/disagree?

in a similar way: when you go into program mode it should automaticly jump to the program that was assigned to the last track you were on!, it stinks that one has to almost always switch programs everytime you want to edit a program when working on multiple programs at once! isn't it logical?.. am I missing something here, is there a shortcut? why the all the window jumping

Q link libary..

when selecting filters and q link destination (i.e. when one needs to scroll though many diffrent "fuctions/names" there should be a pop up window like the one that pops up when you select FX) no big deal but I do think its more user friendly

really gives the OS a face-lift IMO

& hats off to aljax!!
so glad to see you here mate! I hope this represents the new akai!

anyway any thoughts!?

Actually the whole q link library doesn’t make so much sense unless akai could incorporate some kind of program mode for the q link (i.e. whereas every qlink knob/slider would have a its own independent setting per pad like on the 2000 models) .. now this would truly be wicked and there's enugh screen space and f function keys avalible to pull thiss off!

so there could be a qlink performance mode that would be used live similar to how the q link is set up now and then a "qlink program mode" to use as pad edit like back in the day, this would greatly improve the UI!

also it would be nice if the knobs would function in the trim mode, similar to how one could use the shift+fader in trim mode on the 2000/xl models

now is this unrealistik? or is this possible

also in region mode add a "sencitifity function" to have the regions work in a similar way to how recycle works..

hmmm ...

btw: q-link!
i set 3 filters as q-link and run it over my whole beat (all parts)! when i switch from seq 1 to seq 2 in next seq the q-links don't stay where they were at the end of seq 1! am i setting somethin wrong? it would just be great if the beat would go on with the same q-link settings! anyone knows?
