Belive me. I spent about an hour searching for an answer to this before i posted this thread. My guess is that they are obviously unbalanced and therefore the lack of documentation. Excuse a beginner in cable-audio-quality-boring-sciene.

I'm pretty sure that all outs on the MPC are not balanced... but the ins are.

Always wondered why so many nice synths and other gear are the same way when even all the beringer crap is balanced. Hardly ever matters at line levels though, so I dont worry.

I thought they were balanced... I've had balanced cables plugged in for years. Pretty sure they are. Everything is balanced.

Are you refering to your cables or to the outputs of the 8 out board ?

You can used balanced plugs on an unbalanced out no problem, it just wont actually be a balanced signal. In a studio setup, it rarely matters.

It actually says right in the specs in the manual... everything is unbalanced except the ins. That is usually the case for most synths, samplers etc. Z samplers and mpc4000 do have balanced outs though.
