Some questions I have about the MPC 1000 features:

- Is there a "Insert Sample" option in the Edit sample section? the MPC2000Xl has this. It joins two samples.
- Does it have "Direct recording while playing a sequence" like the 2500 have?

Like plug a bass guitar or a keyboard in the line in and record a live performance while listning to a sequence. I know the mpc2500 does this (manual page 60) but I can“t find it in the mpc1000 manual.
Most probably it is not possible. Can someone confirm?

you could use layering or using step edit to play the two events at the same time for this!

It is different. With the "insert sample" feature you insert a sample in the defined position without overriding the original. It is a Insert not a Mix.

Nice to know the mpc1000 can do Direct Recording. Even it's strange the manual doesn't talk about it. The mpc2500 manual does.

Hold on, the MPC 1000 samples while playing, but the sampled / recorded audio will not automatically be placed on the point in the seq where you recorded it, you must assign the sample to program and manualy tap it or insert a note on the tick you want it to start.

Likewise here. I even figured out a work-around using a mixer and a lot of audio connections so that I could record while the sequencer was running. I felt pretty proud of my ingenious schem until I pressed 'play' in record mode and discoverd that the 1K does it anyway.

Think we will get direct record like the 2500 has where you can select track direct record and play directly onto a track?
