Got my second MPC60 !! how to switch OS ??!

Hi, I just bought a second MPC60 MKI in perfect condition ( still in its box !!! ) for a few bucks, it has max memory but still runs OS 2.02. My 1st MPC60 has max memory and 3.10 OS but is not in perfect condition. Is there any way I can just take my 3.10 OS from my old MPC and put it in my new MPC60 ?? I know its doable, but can I do it myself ? I don't know much about electronics but... if I could save a few $$
I'm thinking to sell it after or trade it for a sp-1200.
I'll try to take a picture of my new one and post it here... seriously I've never seen a MPC60 in that prestine condition !

Sure you can do that. I did the exact same thing awhile back with no problem. Just open them up and swap the eproms.

Or a stuby flat head screw driver as per the old Oberheim drum machine manuals...

3 screws on each side. 5 on the back.
4 on the bottom side of the front edge. Lift the cover very carefully. Unplug the backlight from the inverter so that you can move the top panel to the side. Be carefull not to disturb any other wiring. There will be 4 chips right in front of you. They will be labeled 1,2,3,4. Make note of the order and be sure to swap them correctly. There will be 14 little legs on the bottom of each chip. When inserting the chips, be sure that all of the legs are seated properly into the little notches on the circuit board. Do not force the chips. It's easy to fold one of the legs in a way that doesn't make good contact. Before you pull any chips, look at how they are seated.
The process will take about 1-1.5 hours. I used a narrow, flat blade screwdriver under the leading edge to pull them out.

I did the same thing... I have two 60II's so I made like a mega MP, one with alkl the best parts and one to flip to help offset the cost of the second one I bought... I took the two MP's almost as far appart as you could imagine, its takes a little heart but I love taking stuff apart and learning how it works and how its really not as complicated as you would think.

I took my mp apart the other day again and took lots of pics... i made a PDF of all the bits of my mp it's all colour.

I'm getting ready to take my 3Kle apart in a day or two. Having problems with the transport buttons not working. I have to use a footswitch to enter record mode since the button doesn't work. The stop button doesn't work either.
Any tips on taking this thing apart?
