I can't figure out how to save my pad assign's :-(

I have edited the pad assigns, then saved everything, but when I reload it, the pad assigns are gone!

I understand most of the other stuff, but this has got me stumped. I have looked thru the users guide and the reference manual (I have got both printed off) but all it says is:

page 243 of the Reference GuideHINT: Program pad assign settings are part of the selected program.

I don't need a damn hint, I need to know EXACTLY how the 4000 deals with pad assign. For example, I have loads of S1000 drum kits to load in, do I have to assign the damn pads for EVERY kit, then save it? How the heck does this stuff work?

I did check in this here forums, saw something about an auto load thing, cant get that working either, got a folder names Auto Load, is that all I need to do?

Once you've got your samples assigned, keygroups and programs like you want them, go to the save window and select "save entire memory" - be sure you have an empty folder created for this. When you reload that folder, everything should come up just as you've saved it. You do however, need to hit the program button after you've loaded and select the correct program.

Anything in your autoload folder will be loaded when the machine boots.....

Thanks man, I think I got this working... just when I imported about 50 kits, it all got set to some screwy setup - maybe I will have to try loading in my newly created 'program 1' , then import them again, see if I get the layout I'm looking for.

So each and every program has it's own pad assign? I can have 2 different programs and each has different pads?

The info on where things like pad assign get saved was included in an OS Addendum PDF (after I'd kept bleating on for this info for about 18 months)

Think it was maybe the OS 1.50 PDF.

I can't see it in the 1.50 PFD. Just things about the pad mixer.

I specificaly would like to know how I save changes to the Global pad assign: DEFAULT settings.

Like when you go into the sample mode, then hit the pad assign, bank A. Mine had C#1, GM=Sidestick there. How many people have a sidestick on the bottom left pad? How many have C1 and a kick? I want to reprogram that $hit (I know how to do this) then SAVE it or have it set as default or something...

I tried saving all memory, then loading, but it didn't get saved :-(

Idealy, I'd like to be able to save the pad layouts and the controler layout, then import them into another program or multi. I'm not too sure how easy or possible this is.

well if it's not in that one, it'll be in a different PDF.

Either I can go and read through some other ones to check,
or you can.
Since it's you who actually wants to know the answer, maybe it would be more appropriate if it were you who got off your ass?

I have been looking for a few days, I have the Ref manual and the Users manual printed out and bound! The other 4000 manuals I have are the 1.50, the Inst for instaling stuff, the 1.71 for the 1.71 release...

Ok, you are right, i'll go download 1.20, 1.33. 1.40, and 1.45, lets see :-)

Thanks!

Hmmmm... read them all, still can't see any sign at all of how to deal with global pad assign, and / or how to import a pad asignment onto an exsisting program.

Awww maaaaaaaaaaaaaan

Up at the site http://www.akaipro.com/supportdocuments.php#Z248 there is only the ones I mentioned

Do you know a link to where I can get the rest?

I have searched these forums for an answer to my problem, and also searched the internet for these extra PDF's. I know it's annoying to get questions from dumb newbie like me, but I have really tried to find the solution to this... honest sir!

You also have here:
http://www.akaipro.com/supportos.php#MFC1000

They split them up. But they don't have them all!!!!

I have a bunch that I had printed out, but other then on the docs page and os page, they aren't around.

You always have this option:
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.akaipro.com

except that I just tried it:
http://web.archive.org/web/200307131548 ... dload.html

and the pdf links don't work....

Yeah, Akai have lost most of their own documentation.
They are a bunch of retarded mong-spas.

SO WHAT ELSE IS NEW??

there's quite a few at www.forat.com

I can't find the PDF of 1.60 though.
Which may indeed be the one with the answer.

I suggest you phone up Akai and tell them they're a bunch of cunts.
