Battle Records

I recorded this battle record from a friend out in LA like 6 months ago. I just now went through it and sampled some quotes and drums from it. It had some sick shit on it, no lying. Lots of open hits and samples. Problem is, I have no idea what the record was called!

So my question is this. Do you guys have any recommendations for battle records to sample from? Like this record had drum breaks, vox samples, and then at the end it had just single drum hits. U know of any records like this with the same layout...drum breaks, vox, single hits???

I've got my friend diggin through about 150 break records trying to find this one record he let me record, but it was so long ago, it'll be hard to find.

Can you remember what the cover looked like? I might be able to identify from cover artwork, as I have a fairly extensive collection of battle/skratch records from my early attempts at 'turntablism'!!

all the dirtstyle ones are nice, shampoo is my fav for things to cut with and marshmellow breaks has nice drums, but they aRE all pretty nice.

It was really plain. The record sleeve was all black, no artwork. As for the record itself, it was black with white lettering, and maybe a little yellow too. Real basic.

I went to the record store today and listened to a load of battle break records. I found this one from Battleaxe Records. It was dope because in the middle of the record it had a section of wide open drums. So I didn't have to worry about a hat being on top of a kick or snare, just clean hits.

Any other records out there that do that? Just have a section of open drums to snag?

Unearthed Vol 3 by Mr Dibbs
Unknown break project by realtablist(UK I think but LOTS of drum hits)
Pretty much anything by DJ Swamp is cool too

man i just got two copies of the sqratchers delight vol. 3 test press from d-styles

its super super sick!

beats are really raw and diverse

scratch samples are dope, a lot of stuff for live compositions

drums are dope, if you like to drum on the turntables, this is definately one to pick up, its not just simple kick snare combos, more ki-ki-kick sn-sn-sn-snare combonations
