hey,

got my 60mk1 last week. been surfing here in the 60/3k section for the last 2-3 weeks. been a 1k user for 2 years now. i already like the 60 sooo much more than the 1k.

yesterday got my floppydrive working thanks to hiredesign and other people here. found a spare drive as well, both from a local flea market. saved me a lot of money too.

i thought about doing the output mod myself plus the headphone plug to the front, any thoughts?

thanks! after using the 60 for some days now, i can't believe i spent so much money on a 1k compared to the 60. not saying that 1k is that bad, i use it, but the feel, sound, build etc on the 60 is so much better. 1k should cost 400 max.

IMHO what your feeling is psychological because the 60 is surrounded with
a lotta mystique because it was the first of it kind .. i have been fortunate enough to have played with quite a few MPC'c in my time and i can tell you honestly when it gets down to the nut cuttin' there all pretty much the same
some have a few features others dont have but as a whole.. all of them are pretty much the same enjoy the 60

there's def a lot of mystique, i admit. i use the 1k and the 60 side by side, 1k for longer stereo samples/fast beat ideas slaved to the 60, so both get's used...

i still have to stand to what i said about the 60. the sound plus overall feel is just better and the 60 actually cost less than the 1k i bought a couple of years back, so that's why i posted my opinion about it.

working on the 60 is almost like working on the sp12, very limited in comparison to the new stuff. guess that's how i like to work...
