It is funny about the connection speed, i can remember using usb 1 when it first cam eout and thinking the speed was amazing, then i got a firewire hard drive and was gob smacked at the speed, now everything just seems slow. or is it me getting old?

Firewire is definately the way to go now. USB works on a Master/Slave protocol, so your USB devices have to ask 'permission' from all your other USB devices before it can do anything.

P.S.~ Cheer up, you're not the only one getting old !! :)

I'm probably goin to ask bout this, n some1 will have already mentiond it already but....

What about a track sync or track link. So you have one track setup playing a 4 bar, and then you can link other tracks to the 1st and they will replicate the notes being played on to the other tracks.
This way you could have samples and midi trigering at the same time from one pattern, but you could also then have one track trigering...er... well lots, of midi instruments.
Kinda like the multiple midi outs feature request.

I would personally like the mpc2500 to evolve in something like the mpc4000 with the better sampling engine etc...
And yeah , i hear you guys on the usb1 thing , i mean , come'on ...USB1 on a 1500 euro machine , pfff , how mutch can it possibly cost more to use a usb2 at least.

P.S.:1) a minimum of 2 polyphony with the 16 levels tune
i noticed that this works just fine in my mpc1000 but if i play a synth sound that's set to "note on" on the mpc25000 , the notes keep cutting each other off , strange

Greetz...

If you haven't noticed AKAI there are third party programmers who've updated the 1000's OS to have 90% of the 2500's functions and THEN SOME!!!!!!!
