Torn...2000xl--->1000?

get an emu rack ( i got the e4xt classic , dope ass filters ( i mean heaps, not just your classic multimode) and VA synth like synth engine. ohh and dont forgot all those modulation sources.), sit your mpc ontop of it, let them have midi sex. youll see that the emu racks works great along side the mpc, and takes your sampling and filtering shizzle to the next level. it was like going from high school to university,

I have an S5000.

I want filter sweeps without the MIDI sex. Don't get me wrong here, MIDI sex is super good but I'd rather have self contained masterbation while sitting in the living room away from my studio. KNow what I'm saying?

I don't like the 1000 very much, it feels like a toy compared to other akai units - BUT I will admit it is the SMALLEST most portable fully featured sampler on the market. It feels like military grade compared to Roland. Just get what you like. Be happy, have fun. Make your friends smile.

ive decided on the 2500.

Don't let extra features be your decision on buying something. You mentioned that you though your setup was perfect. What happened?
Anyways, your lust will never end Get a MPC4000 today, and a few years later a new MPC is gonna pop up. Unless your equipment is hindering your creativity, use what you got. I don't wanna call folks out, but I still haven't heard a beat from an MPC4000 or an MV8000 that made me want to cop either one of them units, and both of them can do things we don't even need them to do. So don't be pressed about what your MPC can't do. A little imagination can make it do anything you need it to do.
