There are a few little niggly things about the (otherwise fantastic) 1k that would be lovely to see tweaked. Im still drooling. Ill be dehydrated by the time its out.

I'm so pissed off though. The place I ordered my 1000 from is sold out and the units are on back order from Akai. It turns out they won't have any units in stock until end of July at the earliest.

Getting excited to say the least.
Can't wait for grid edit!! And the feature where you can change parametres for a whole bunch of samples/pads at the same time kills it.
Not to mention direct recording.

ok with this os, im assuming the difference between mpc 2500 (in terms of software/os) is going to b very narrow, if any difference. what will the 2500 that my 1000 wont in terms of software (obviously bigger pads and extra outs and cd driver aint something that i can change)?

lets hope this isnt a hoax. ok i dont mind step edit, but seriously, grid edit is that much easier, dont care wat anyone says. of course u can get quick at step edit, but it takes longer to adapt to than grid edit. if my mpc could do grid edit, i will b an extremely happy bunny

why should i buy a 1000$ machine if i can do exactly the same with my comp

recording drums with your hands is much more intuitive and gives much more convincing results imo

but for real guys, the multiple filters per pad is dope...one step closer to si-mult.

for editing m8. unfortunately im not a gifted drummer. i always tap out my drums, but when i wanna move a kick to slight different timing, or shift certain notes, id rather look at a grid, than a list of steps. its more efficient. doesnt make a difference to what the song sounds like. but personally i prefer it. and why buy a mpc? because its the whole package. the pads, chopping, sequencing, and that hardware sound....software cant provide u all this in one box. plus the hassles of using a computer (computers crashing all the time, gay errors), mpc errors are all very limited, as each bit of hardware is built for one specific purpose, whereas computers serve lots of different purposes, and therefore, in my experience are less focused on what i want to do.
