cut /inout? fader simulation? aphex twin, squarepusher

if anyone has listened to aphex twin or squarepusher you might know what i'm talking about. is there any operation which allows you to do something, that could be done with a mixer, like clicking the sound in and out for further sound manipulation? and since i've mentioned them, would it be that hard to make music as intricate as aphex twin, squarepusher or venetian snares makes, with the mpc1000, as long as i was willing to spend the time tweaking shit out, gathering samples and the entailed?

U can do something similar thanks to the trck mute option. I assure i use my mpc1000 to play this kind of music and sounds great. But for complex and large samples i use it in combination with other sequencers/samplers. FEx: I programm all drum sequences, so heavy and full of snares, deep BD and cutted bd at moroless 160- 180 bpm all with mpc1000. I use it too to play roaring basses and the short sequences i click in and out. And for the long melodic samples i normally use Live or Cubase or directly my MicroMod. But u can use the mpc for those parts too. But i use a multifader midi controller to control the in-out and levels with live or cubase, 'cos playin' with the levels on mpc is not so quick.

not infront of the MPC right now, so sorry if this doesn't make sense, but you can do snare rolls automatically...rate is set by the value set in T.C., the you hold one button will you press & hold the intended pad....

what is TC?

TC is timing correct. MPC has a function called Note Repeat that allows u to repeat some note since u press the pad till u leave it. And depending the value u give to TC (originally used to correct played notes, as quantize), the note will repeat on different values, for example 1/8, 1/16 etc. U will be interested in timings over (1/48, 1/96) as AFX use.
