ok i got a m-audio firewire 410 soundcard that I will be hooking up tonight with my (pro tools m-powered 7) by the way I never wanted it to come to this software shit but I've been making beats for awhile and I need it to be able to mix and record my stuff. I only need to track one track at a time into my computer through the firewire 410. I have a Mackie 12 channel mixer and I will be taking the output of that and putting it into my sound card. I am just wondering what cables I need to simply just record. I noticed that the 2 in's are named 1 and 2, does this mean left and right?? like should i take the left channel output from my mixer and plug it into the #1 in? and take the right channel and plug it into #2? or do I only need to use one of these if I am going to be tracking one track at a time. If it's just one I need then I would need a stereo cable to plug into the #1 in so I would be tracking both channles?? I know it's a dumb question but I haven't read the manual yet and i need to go after work to get these cables. any help would be good. 1
