if you just buy records to sample then i would say yes you wasted your money ....but thats just me .

i buy records to spin and to listen to if i get some thing with a open hit then thats a plus , theres plenty of good records for cheaper that have one shot's on them ,you just got to look.

i dont kno .....but this is the order i buy records for :

1 for djing (that means it will get played reguardless)
2 for listening pleasures
3 for sampling

thats just me tho

i buy whatever interests me at the moment-(my record cap is 2 bux each-unless its rare sun ra:):)
then i grab samples from them, and re-sell most of them(except the 12inchers-i keep thos for dj use)-
sometimes i make enough re-selling 1 or 2 that it will finance the next dozen:)
i used to be in record addicts anonymous, and have made great progress(i used to spend MOST of my income on avant/freejazz/underground indie stuff, but around 15 years ago i had a revelation, and put on the 2 dollar cap--now i am much happier, dont have 20,000 records, and have a friend or 2:):)
peace,etc-

Well jac....................

MY take on it IZ thiz..................

Most of My Vinyl Where Grabbed For ..........................

Free to $5.00 now.....................

My Most Expensive Piece Was Priced at $25.00 and It Was A SEALED "SUN RA" Batman Joint...............

Since then I Have bought A Limited Run Italiain Library Record That Was NEVER Imported To The US..............For $32.00..................

Again Sealed And A 2DISC Italian ONLY Pressing........... :!: :!: :!: :!:

But What ARE THE SAMPLES Cause IF You Paid $40.00

My ADVICE IS TRY AND FIND WHAT ELSE THERE IS TO SAMPLE AND RIP THE S-H-I-T OUT OF THAT VINYL I Mean TILL DA WHEELZ COME OFF.............

I ALSO ADVISE RECORDING IT TO CD SO U DON'T HAVE To WEAR IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!

And Listen To IT As A Whole AND ENJOY IT..........................

Hey $40.00 IZ KRAZEE ONLY IF YOU DON'T WORK IT.................

YA DIG........................ 8)

8) .. 8) .. 8) .. 8)

The more a record is sampled by industry cats the more expensive it becomes. The most I paid 4 a record is 5 bucks. But if u feel u need dat kick 2 make banger and cant emulate it dats cool.lol. I dig wer u would never go 4 records....
