messed up beat...

srry if this is repost.. but when your making a beat on the mpc2500 without using software, say your making a drum with a clap , doesnt it come out weired, liek you have to make if over and over again so it sounds good like the right tempo? please help

no.... like ok .. im recording a drum with a clapand im thinking wow i made a dope drum, and then when i play it it doesnt come out how i want it to be.. it sounds like i accidently hit it to fast or to late...but i didnt hit the pds to fast or to late or to hard... then it sounds weired and then i have to do the track all over again...

ya i kinda wonder that too...more with samples...like if i hit the pad to trigger a sample alittle late, do i have to redo everything?

set TC to off ?

That's why I asked about the quantize/timing.

Yea, the default Timing correct of 1/16 doesn't work at all in most cases. Set it to 1/32 at least, or completely off (the TC button on the main screen).

i think dollabillbeats is looking for more if it is off, can u fix it slightly like u can with the reason sequencer? in reason if a bass hit is slightly off i can just zoom in and fix it with the mouse...can u some wut do this with a mpc?

i always use timing correct at 1/16 and set the swing at 60%
and my drums sound TIIIGGGH HT!

Of course you can. I find it easiest to use the Step Edit mode, you will have to know where your notes are supposed to sit to sound right, so a little knowledge about the bar-beat-tick resolution is mandatory. You can easily add a "manual swing" to your beat there by shifting single notes a few ticks.

the way i change is grid edit, kill the timing tp off.. copy and paste it a few tics forward or back... easy
