definately!!!

i wonder how he managed to do this, because i remember reading on this forum that it was nearly impossible to uncompile an OS, and you can forget building one from scratch

(if someone can find this thread...)

MPC1000 OS Version 3.0

MPC2500 (Version 1.1) loading suitable function!

[beta] edition is done gratis (there is no functional restriction).

.....................................................................

it says their is no functional restriction!!

so i would assume you'd be able to save after the first hour

Here's the new stuff written on the homepage:

"Beta Version released free of charge (No restrictions on functions).

It took a long time adding the additional functions and as a result, there wasn't enough time to check for bugs so there are probably a number of bugs. However, any serious bugs will be fixed right away and an upgraded beta version will be released. Right now it is version 01. Until the the Release Version gets released, I recommend visiting this site once a week to check for upgraded versions of the beta version. You can check the graphic above to see which version is available.

About Beta Version:

There aren't any issues with the functions, but there are a few small areas that aren't finished so bear with me. For example, on the Load screen I'm thinking about what to do about displaying the file size.

* Future Plans

Please try out the beta version and report any bugs to me. Please use this link to report bugs. All bugs will be fixed and a Release Version is planned to be sold for 3000 JPY. (End of July/August)

* By the time the Release Version is sold we (I?) hope to add a few more functions."

djobserv. the page has been modified since...the stuff i am talking about.

anyway good to hear that there is no functional restriction except for bugs itself hehe.

this stuff looks really serious. so we may hope , there will be a better os support, and fresh updates often.

me either. i thougt he used the same technic as Xbox hack and so on.. when the official os drop some memory dump due to a bug test routine or whatever. if the os is still loaded on ram, and some vital part still functionning, you are able to execute some code, your code.

but it just my personal assumption, i really dont know how he did it. obviously it works !! this is simply great !!

this is **** excellent. cant believe akai cant give us something of this quality. its pathetic. i will definitely buy this as long as it doesnt blow up my mpc. the grid is nice. shift + pad 11 is a very nice screen, shame u cant change settings whilst play or recording as that would b seriously some next level stuff. all those options on one screen makes sooooo much more sense. and whilst the grid edit is very simplistic, i could see myself getting very quick at editing. i wonder if i can select 'save entire memory' and it will actually save entire memory as that was one of the worst bugs ive ever seen on a piece of hardware. saving is fundamental, and to get that buggy in two official os's....i mean who tests these things.

How do you chose your program in the SHIFT+11 section?

I can only choose Program01...

sorry i meant 'mode + pad 11'. found my first bug. using grid whilst in play, trying to edit on the fly, i tried deleting a whole line of kicks in play mode and it crashed. another thing, my autoload folder doesnt seems to work, i usually hav an empty autoload folder to stop the default programs from loading upon starting the mpc. seriously tho, if these bugs r ironed, i think the mpc 1000 is an absolute corker of a machine now. wats the point in buying 2500 now.

Hi Guys,
For anyone who's using this, is the chopping accuracy improved when you split up a sample? To my understanding, the 2500 chops at the peaks of the sample, the 1000 is more random.
Thanks
