MPC1000 OS V3.0 beta ?

ay can any of you beta testers suggest that this guy fixes the reason synce problem...ppllleaaasee...nym do that for me...reason, mpc, and oxygen 8 = GOLD

why dont you just use reason as a module? i used to sync it but that's a lil too clumsy for me.

if only reason had midi out, you could use reason's sequencer and then record it to the mpc sequencer. use the reason sequencer as a halfway point.

nonetheless we're gonna need sync again.

however, w/ the mpc having grid edit now, it kinda eliminates the need for sync...but w/e

as for lining up waves - after you're done with your beat on the mpc and you're about to start recording, insert a 1 bar sequence before your beat. set a short sample to play on 1.01.00 on all tracks. record as normal.

then trim your wav so that the sample you triggered is at the very beginning of your wav. that way lining up is reaaally easy.

i forget who i learned that from.

damn, thats a nifty trick for lining up waves. I would have never thought of that.

last time it wasn't like this. what we have here is a fully functional OS.

what we had last time was simply a plugin - you couldn't make beats on that thing. it was more of a dj tool.
JJ has created a new os - one meant to directly replace the akai version. it trumps it, so to say. i bet that JJ implements the old dj trick os into the mpc1000 os 3.0 as a plugin and will continue to make addons that do special things in the future, and charge accordingly.

akai is not gonna undercut the 2500 like that - UNLESS they're about to drop something nonsensical for the 2500. we're talking like new features coming out of the machine's buggy little ass - a 2500 equivalent to the mpc1000's os 2.0.

JJ's best tactic will be to make os 3.0 a Port os - one that lets 3rd party plugins get installed. keeping the plugins a separate part of the os will be good because individual plugins won't mess up the os in general. call me a zealot, but i trust in JJ implicitly.

thats not how i remember it. i mean he had screen shots of the timestrectch/pitchshift/other features that he added which would lead me to believe that they were a part of the os he was using at the time. and who is to say that akai doesn't have something major in store for the 2500? it would make sence that they do, but only time will tell.

from what i can tell they were alternate programs, not OS's in terms of what we know an os to be.

Yeah, you can leave a note for him in the bug reporting area on his page...I'm not sure if he reads English though. If you write in English I'd use short, simple sentences and avoid slang.

NYM: Just saw your PM. I actually just tried sending the guy a message myself telling him about this thread and asking him to watch it if he can understand English, and I recommended he look into Paypal when he starts selling the OS . Paypal isn't big in Japan, so I thought it would really suck if he used some pay system that only allows people in Japan to buy the OS. Unfortunately, his site will not allow information to be sent until the 28th. What I'll do though is wait until the 28th and resend my messege and pass along your message as well.

Sweet ! Just loaded up this latest version of the OS this evening and have been jamming with it for a few hours. There are a few small bugs, but its working well for the most part. Really liking all the big features but also the little things in there like Stereo -> Mono, Auto-Loop, the new Disk mode layout and the ability to audition samples using the pads in Load mode rather than the F5 button.

Definitely temple worthy
