Anybody ever tried this for recording with the MPC1000?

http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/F ... -main.html

I have other audio recording software like reason, cubase or whatever, so I dont care about the software in the package just the inputs. My soundcard sucks and has no inputs and I dont wanna splurge on a recorder and mixer at the moment so should I go this route for now for a quick fix? Or just keep my beats stored in the mpc until I can get the other hardware I need?

I know its not the best for recording from the mpc to the pc but would it work good enough?

Have the beat play from the main out and run it to the line in on mpc? Just do the whole song that way? If that will work thats cool..

No you don't have to do any cable loops. Just go to record mode, change Source from Analog to Main Outs, start recording, start the beat.

03. Select the Input field, and select the recording source.

ANALOG The MPC1000 will record the incoming signal from the RECORD IN on the rear panel.

DIGITAL The MPC1000 will record the incoming signal from the DIGITAL IN on the rear panel.

MAIN OUT The MPC1000 will record the same signal with the signal from the STEREO OUT on the rear
panel..

Download the addendums (os changes and updates) and the manual.

Peep it out if your spare time as much as you can.

When you finally get your shyt (mpc) you can read again WHILE pushing the buttons and it will all become clear to you.

Are you starting to like this site more or what?

You and me, we started off on the wrong foot I guess, Imma start that shyt over if you don't mind.

I'm Lampdog, welcome to the boards.

but about the fastrack,

i bought it for my laptop setup(not my main setup), and the quality just wasnt that good. Make sure when you get your mpc, that you take time a research audio interfaces. That is the most important part.
