What do you use to chop your samples up with?

I assume most of you have an MPC but do you use it to chop up samples or do you go to a diffrent peice of hardware or software?


I chop with Adobe Audition for any .wav sampling but if its right off the turntable I usually just use the MPC - Just curious what everyone else does when they have a sample and want it chopped into a bunch of little bits.

SoundForge all day.It's alot faster and i can take some of the work load off the mpc this way.

For drum breaks and taking individual drum sounds i use recycle. For melodies n loops in the such ill just trim up my loop in audacity then import it into my mp and use non-destructive chopping in my mpc using zones.

When you say you import it from recycle or soundforge to the MPC - are you simply using the MPC editor to import?

I'm suprised at the amount of people using software although I'll agree it is the faster/easier way to chop.

ITS MUCH FASTER PLUS YOU GOT MORE CONTROL OVER YOUR samples in AN AUDIO EDITOR.................


I Don't USE MPC EDITOR..............I USED 2 USE ZIP DISKZ TO TRANSFER FILES WAVE FOR WAVE......................

i use recycle now................ i got sound forge, but i use sf to amp up my wav file then send it to recycle. what features in sound forge assist in chopping? does it read the wav and chopp like recycle?

PC....i chop and add fx to my samples using waves diamond bundle then i sample the pc into my Akai S5000
