speed of sequence

how do you play a sequence slowly while effecting the tone as well

Just and idea but, audio out to audio in record the sequence as a new sample then use pitch adjust?

Yes, that's the easiest way, works even without having to connect the Ins and Outs physically on the 2500. But you can't modify the sequence anymore after that.

Other way is to tune every sample to the new tempo by hand.

Not all MPC's can do that

You may need an intermediate device to record it onto like some kind of magnetic tape, computer HD, or another sampler? Record the whole thing onto the device then rewind and sample it from the start and use pitch shift on the sample.
On my 2000 classic though I know you can go into the sampkle window after you have pressed play or play all on your sequence, so whats stopping you from sticking a 1/4 inch cable from out to in and hitting record?
