chopping on the 2000

If you have it set to play x and you haven't set a start or end point you won't hear anything.

there are servral options in the play x box...

play-x before ,after ,zone? you dig what im saying? which one should i use?

yeah i was trying to chop that way and once i get to zone edit and i have my zone there isnt a button to hit to cut it into a pad. maybe the guy was right who posted above that this can only be done on the XL?

if i find out how after looking through the manual i will post it up here.

When you are in zone edit,you can select after/before(whatever) the zone.But if you don't have a start and end point you're playing from 0 to 0.If that makes sense.If it doesn't read up on page 123.Actually reading 121-131 wouldn't hurt either.

hey thanks to all that helped ......but i got it the only thing is that it takes to long on the classic....so i pulled up sound forge and the pc and looked around and came across auto region..witch does the same thing as re-cycle.....and i used the mpc-editor to make a program

but my question is which one is better sound or re-cycle because sound forge scliced it but not all that good i still haft to tweak it a lil bit

I use SoundForge 8 and i love it.If you're not sampling like 30 seconds just region it yourself.Like 10 seconds or less is easy as hell to region manually.Give it a shot.

thanks fam ....i see where sound forge puts the markers but is there away i can here the chops? all i see is the lines but when i hit play it plays the whole sample...not in chops i really dont here the chops till i get them on the mpc

Hit the other play button and it'll play what you have highlighted or pull up the regions list.(i think the shortcut is alt+2)Or go to view and select the regions list.

SF seems to be the truth!!! all i got to do now is hook my turn table up to the pc and use SF to record what i want chop it and drop it to the mpc....

how many pads to you use on a reg? do you use all banks or just whatever you feel?

And this is where my new toy comes in handy......

I usually just chop whatever i feel,save em to zip and load them up.Sometimes i get a little carried away though and can have ALOT of chops.That's when you have to decide what to keep and what to discard.Well.maybe not discard because you can always use it on another track but,that's up to you.

yo about your screen blanking out i had that happen to me before. mine stayed blank forever. that is until i asked my pops and he told me all LCD screens have a contrast adjustment, and yours is probably loose. that's all the info i can give though because i didn't get to see him do it. so moral of the story.... adjust the contrast of your lcd screen

ok peepz after doing a little research....and a little help from my bit torrent and 15 minutes later.......i got that recyle......anybody got game on this software the in's and out? what do you use it for? i tried to do a little choppin but could not get the chops tight.......this was plain music ,with drumz it chops perffect!!!!!
