midi notes wont change

I cant get the midi note assignment to pads to change. I can change the numbers around but it doesnt seem to make any effect on the pads. Does anyone have an idea why?

i have a 2500 but i hink you can change the midi note (external) in the program view-note.

Also, not to hijack but i can't seem to get the internal sample note numbers to stick in the midi sync-note window. I'll set them but they won't ever stay.
