ok i got this gig lined up ... where they want to hear some tribal, ok so now i was in the scene about 9 yrs ago and my tribal is much different. what is theh scene playin now that makes it tribal.
back then it was tribal drums patterns ,congas , tribal chants.
has it changed ? i have not bought new music in yrs and i dont want to go out and by new stuff . i want to play what i got , and stand my ground on what i feel is true music . i got to give them a demo so if it dont work out , it wasnt meant to be .

just if you guys can give me an idea of how the tribal music is now .
artist,labels and stuff like that.
thanks fellas for any help

ok thats kol but one thing i dont play import's....sorry it's just been a choice of mine since i started to play in the scene, i got a few but mostly all i play is domestic's just thing that i support the artist at home is all,

but this is whats hittin in the uk right? they have always been different in the music has it changed as far as patterns and programing wise?

i think i can get by with what i got ,i 'm just curious as how the newskool will take to it. my sounds are more heart felt and deep
purely for dancing ,not to much change in the drum programing and patterns

A lot of the people whose stuff you were probably buying 9 years ago are still producing: Roger Sanchez, Kerri Chandler, Murk (Ralph Falcon & Oscar G). Although MAW aren't doing much together at the moment Kenny Dope is doing a lot of disco & funk re-edits on his KayDee label & Louie has his Vega label which always have nice percussion dubs. Check things on the Ovum label from Philly & Ibadan & Wave from NYC.

You could probably do most of the set with your old records.

Play some older Masters At Work, Danny Tenaglia or Murk Boys (BKA Funky Green Dogs, Liberty City, Oscar G & Ralph Falcon) and you'll do great e.d.e!
