sample tuning

how do you alter the note of a sample without changing the pitch?? 2kxl

you can tru auto-chromatic on the 2000XL, but I think that will still change the pitch. It will allow you to lay the sample out like a group of notes on a keyboard. For example, C4,D4,E4,F4,G4,A4,B4. I believe, someone correct me if I'm wrong

The note of a sample......You mean the key?? if so then you'l need to pitch it..if not then you seem to b talking about ...........

word @ Bravo: changing note without changing pitch seems like impossible to me, or perhaps you are talking about the note by which you control your sample in a program, that you can change bij going into the program editor.

Every note has a different fundamental frequency. This is what we perceive as pitch. If you change the pitch you change the note...

A sampler works by slowing down and speeding up samplers thus changing the pitch, hence the note. It should be noted that some samples transpose better than other. Eg a piano is very difficult to sample and must be multi sampled, that is more than one sample must be used.

The mpc can't but software can.I think you can do it in sound forge and acidize it. Then you need acid. Recycle does it too. But MPC standalon? nah

My bad. Yeah that is impossible, but you can change tempo without changing the pitch. I think that is what he wants.

Acid will allow you to change the pitch w/out changing the duration of the sample and change the tempo w/out changing pitch to a certain degree. You can't go from 80 bpm to 120 bpm and expect no change. It has to be a little bit more subtle than that. I beleive that is what he wants.
