Just got an original pressing of Bitches Brew - Miles Davis... Paid mind you didnt get from a thrift shop. looking to get more jazz Lps and some old funk 45's
I here that getting 60's Mono LP's is a good idea, any names to give me to help me on my early days of becoming a record junkie?

i am a big miles fan, and his auto is teaching me so much. i am definitely applying into what i do as a dj and a person who does beat.

Stan Kenton is ill as I don't know what.
The thing with his records is that not many folks would pick them up because he's always smiling on his records like everything's swell (a la Sergio Mendes) and I think folks take that as hokey or something.
But he was well ahead of his time for usre.

My happiest moment was finding the self titled frank traynor and the jazz preachers lp in near mint condition for 7$. When I pulled it out I actually jumped, much to my mates amusement. Goes for around the 80$ mark (i believe) amongst collectors..

I also picked up the Jazz Preachers in Washington Square 45 for a buck..

Rare as.. Frank Traynor was one of the fathers of Australian Jazz..

It was all compounded by the fact that I live at the arse end of the world and found it in a shop that normally obscenely marks their records up.. It was like a big middle finger for all the money they've extracted from me over the years..
