I've never encountered anything like this before

I have an 808 program (I think its the one from the Akai site) that I've used for a long time, but out of nowhere, whenever I trigger the long-kick (deep bass) sample, it plays back in the sequence, it plays at the highest pitch possible (+120). No matter what I do to try and record at a different pitch, it always tranforms to the highest possible pitch in playback.

Has anyone had a similar problem or know what might be causing this? I assume it's not just a problem with this sample, as I've used it successfully a million times before.

Any thoughts? Thanks! J.

Have you checked your Q-link sliders?

Yip that's exactly it

you have assigned a parameter to the pad in the slider screen what you have to do it hit MODE+PAD1(slider) and then hit the pad that has the long bass sound with the high tuning then HIT reset (F6) this will reset the sound to default, the thing is there is no place in the 1K that i found that shows that sound to be tuned by the qlink sliders so when it happens (sometimes by mistake or you forgot) just do this and it will reset the samples parameters
