standard midi files

Is it posssible to load standard midi files from the flash card and use them to sequence samples? like the MPC 4000.

yes. and the MPC can save it's sequences as .mid files too.

what I want to do it chop up a loop in recycle . export the slices with a midi file then load the midi file into the 1000 and work the beat, but it doesn't seem to pick up on the midi files, any advise?

How is the audio working into this? you've already got your program & samples loaded? then you transfer over & load the .MID file as a sequence, assign a program to it (to map the sounds), then you should be good to go...

Yuo samples have to mapped to the correct key's (C1, C1# etc) the MPC's layout isn't like a normal keyboard - you have to manually go in and put what you want where - when you load your samples up they do know automatically where to go (in my experience)
