Suggestions for transporting records in summer heat

It's summer time now...hot as hell...how do ya'll transport records in this heat?

I use my car.

at nite and away from heat and sunlight prolly best to put them in your trunk but dont leave them there all day tho, and before you take them out the sleve to check them ...LET THEM COOL DOWN THEY WILL WARP...


if you have to do in the day in your car cover them with something so the sun dont hit them, and dont leave them in the car all day again

You should probaly keep the air conditioner on in your car also if your driving during the day...

im in between pads, and im about to put my 30 or so crates in storage

im hoping that theyre only there a month or two until i can find a pad with room for them...

im scared theyre gonna melt in the heat in storage...

Don't these storage providers specify a temperature range in their warehouses?

GOOD STUFF AND PUT PAPER BETWEEN Like Piles OF 10 or SO.............


And Cover IT With BLACK OR Dark Plastic Bagz.....To Prevent Direct Sun Light.............


BUT YES EDE IZ RIGHT LIMIT THEIR TIME IN THE HEAT OR SUN.............


AND USE UR CARS AC AND UD BE GOOD!!!!!!

i would avoid the trunk suggestion, it gets hot as hell in there.

I would not recommend dark material. Dark surfaces absorb heat. Rather use white material, that reflects the sunlight.

i had mine in storeage for two yrs and they were cool a few got warped, but i kno why now , dont stackem tilted the have to be straight up and down and dont stackem flat either the will warp that way too,the temp dont realy matter to much in less you take them out to look at them and they taco up or if you take them out in the light they will taco so fast it aint even funny i seen it happen and felt sorry for the dudes that it happened to abunch of uk import house records they are not cheap i tell you that and to spin out side with out a tarp man what are you thinking,

a storage is cool just store them properly and you wont have any problems.

Yea, I've seen so many of them storages when I was down around the Bay... we don't really know these over here. I just wondered if they give you a defined environment, in case you wanna store electronics, or paintings or whatever in there.

true story, i went to pick up a few friends one hot august afternoon down in maryland. 1 too many people to fit in my car. so the crazy mofo friend (we all have them), said he'd ride in the trunk (20 minute drive). he gets in with jeans and a t shirt. Long story short, when we got to where we were going and let this beotch out of the trunk, he's stripped almost naked, except he's wearing a pair of my underwear (i always keep a full change of clothes in the trunk) and my necktie, sweating his azz off, i mean, he might have lost 10 pounds. Ha, that dude used to crack me up all day long with his antics.

so, yeah, trunks get hot.

the papers i got from the storage say " dont store anything that is temperature sensitive"...

imma have to go over there everyday and plug the fan in to circulate the air and cool it off a bit... i got lucky and i have a lightbulb socket in there, so i got access to electricity... i guess the storage is my new chill spot in the daytime, til i find a new place for my recs and equipment that is...

true it say's that but trust me, i've kept them in there for two yrs and it's realy not as bad as you may think.if you get a storage room with some space you will have some room for them to breath, i had a 5X10 and a 10X10 and i actually went up from the 5 to a 10,theres plenty of ceiling room. what i did was lay some carpet down casue that helps stablize the temp a bit. kinda insulates cause remeber just a hot as it get's in the summer, it get's cold in the winter. so the carpet helps it out a bit. plus it keeps the moister down from gettin to your records.

you dont want to go plug fans in cause your respondisble for fire damage if you burn down the unit, man, i was alwaays cautious about shi+ like that when i had storage. i even took out the most expensive fire insurance they offered, just in case. it was about 1500 dollars , not even close to a full crate of some of my worst records.
