it's all just so damn interesting man, i never expected this much fun when i bought my mpc. i can't believe i was actually WORRIED about what kind of world i was entering when i picked it up.

anyway i'm about to watch this video now. hope it helps, apparently it's a good one

edit - not the video, i mean the feature. is that all that chop shop has to offer? no deeper chopping features?

no big deal, i mean it'll be nice to have
but it won't make a huge difference at all

nah - we've had it since 3.0. we had slice at 2.1 - this is transient detection.

basically, it's recycle in an mpc.
cool, but not killer. convenient, for sure. i've grown accustomed to 3.0's chopping and i prefer it now. at very least you can merge chops 1 through whatever into 1 big slice and then divide divide divide to simulate 2.1's slice. i like it.

but transients is what chopshop is, so basically no you haven't. i agree though, transients ain't all that. on some samples they make it easier though - drumbreaks, it's great.

So it aint the same then is it!

Nym i replied in your other post, it works great on drum breaks where the hits are more prominent, not so good on phrases as it struggles to detect the attacks.

I haven't really messed with the sensitivity settings that much though, i'm sure it could be fine tuned

You can tune it to get better chops

You can change:

Recovery time
Threshold
Sensitivity

I'm a bit hit and miss with it at the moment to be honest but it's easy to rechop.
jfunk you get that option, when you go into chopshop you get two modes, auto (transient) and Equally where you select the number of regions you want and it chops them into equally sized slices.
