thanks and yes I have checked out youtube.com, my fav is the video of heatmakers on the mpc. Have you guys seen that stuff yo!!!! Skills!!!

That Heatmakers video does not demonstrate any skill at all. They loop up a sped-up vocal sample and add some drums and percussion.... Big deal. Oh, I forgot they add a three note bassline to a sample that has bass in it.

Ok.......so I will assume that the current 2500 are shipping with the OS 1.21 how long has this new OS been availiable? These midi problems are really bad news to me because that is exactly why I am buying the 2500 to run my whole studio.......but like you said I guess I could purchase a warranty, try it out and if I have problems take it back.

that show you certains features. again, i dont' know what level you are at with mpc's so it may or may not help you YMMV.

i'm new to both 2kxl & 2500 so reading up on here and watching a few of these has provided good insight for me. i downloaded the 2kxl manual as well. good read.

funny how giving my opinion upset you.......wow........ do you have something against the heatmakers? Does the fact that I don't have an MPC really mean I don't know a good track when I hear one? Is that really what your saying? I should hope not.

It might well be that there is still an older OS on it, if not even the first one. Depends on when the batch was shipped from Akai. But you can always check and update yourself, that won't void your warranty.

I got a Yamaha s90 with 88 keys hooked up to my 2500 and I've never had a problem with it, it plays back with sick precision. Maybe the problems only occur when you have the quantizeoption on? Cus I allways have it off.

Than you may not be someone that can help troubleshoot this problem. Why don't you turn the 'quantizeoption' ON. Then create some music and report back. This would help.
