Problems recording from MPC to CEP

whats up everybody,
my problem is when i record a sequence into cool edit, the volume is so low that i can barely hear it. If i amplify it, it just gets distorted. I have the record in levels on my comp turned up, and the volume on the mpc turned up as well. So, is it the fact that i have a crappy soundcard? Or am i doing something else wrong? Any replies would be appreciated.

check ur multimedia settings for playback and look at the level of the wave output.........it sounds as if it maybe turned down.........also before you record into cep.......what is the level meter at the bottom looking like

I also have this problem except its with soundforge.... when I record my mixes it only output to about -30 to -40db byt when I record from mpc soundforge I get about -1 to 3db......

Any of u know how I can turn up the volume of my mixes???

Have you checked your wave output level???? Sometimes they are down

What about your Windows mixer recording level? Check that.

Also make sure you have "LINE" selected on your record feature in your windows setup for your soundcard.........What type is it anyway????

audiophile.... the soundcard has its own control panel and everything is set to 0db(maximum). I only get low input(record) when recording my dj mix, with the mpc its fine.

thanks for the replies, i checked all those and everything is turned up. ive got an audiophile soundcard coming, so we'll see how it goes from there.

Maybe it needs a pre amp or something
