this point was brought up and i'd like to embellish it. i know that very few would do this here, but this is an affirmation of a stance i believe many will agree with.

When many of us bought our mpcs, there was no timestretch, zone, pitchshift, realtime control of qs, and more. our mpcs were simply wave sequencers that one could get creative with. mad limiting, but at its base element, what a sampler should be.

then came the news - sparq murmurs about os 2. suddenly what didn't seem possible on a little machine like this gets to be a myth. and then it comes, after months of waiting, and we all rejoiced. it was amazing. we now had fully fledged mpcs, powerful little bastards. it was good.

But the os still had bugs - not bugs that made it impossible for us to use, but they stung. we lost our work and gritted our teeth. we tried to ignore strange artifacts that would appear when we applied long decays.

and then we found out something new.

We have a friend - or several friends, it would seem, over in japan. We should have many more friends at Akai, but they're simply too slow.

we've come to realize there is nothing but software separating mpc 2500 features--and/or more features---and the 1000 os. we have the same hardware, just smaller.

the Association of Jenerous Japanese Jeniuses have picked up the slow's slack. they're currently providing us with something we never dreamed would ever happen when we bought our mpcs. the 1000 is taking a life of its own through 3rd party coders.

these guys probably have day jobs. those day jobs are probably not Akai related. in their spare time, they have opted to create this - the golden os.

anyone who shares the working operating system is biting the hand that feeds them. now listnen - i myself use pirated material. i dont' have a problem with that. but this is a stand i'm taking because i feel that this is different. we are a very small interest group, and these guys has appealed to us. they've listened to our requests, our bug reports. they're doing us a personal huge favor.

the very least we could do is pay thirty dollars.
please do not trade the os when it comes.
gratitude will follow this kindness.

Definitely. JJ has to get paid for this work. Further development, bug fixes, etc, will all rest on the goodwill and trust that is built up by those of us who use this OS.

30 bucks is such a ridiculous deal for all the new features we are getting. i'll pay that in a heartbeat.

This is no different from any other software application that comes up on the market.

If you don't want people to make copies of this, then you should lead by example and not use ANY cracked software.....period.

Please dont ask people to not copy this while saying you use other cracked software of greater value. This is double standards.

no it is not, and my mind will not be changed otherwise.

this is smaller, grassroots, and directed. also, we have direct influence upon it as shown by the bug reports. i have no such place in sony.

the only big co software i feel bad about dling is reason, and i plan on buying it when it generates a midi out signal
