MPC1000 OS V3.0 beta ?

so, what bugs have been fixed since i had version 4 or 5 of the beta?

is the program mode bug fixed? with assigning samples? what about the slice option?

this feature was conected to the datawheel in 2.1

I have been installing the new betas as they come out and can't understand why it is going to cost $30 for the final version. Is there going to be some more features added that aren't currently in the beta? I would have gladly paid that much for 2.1 when it came out because that update was huge. However I can't see myself paying $30 for a grid edit mode and few other small things I never use, and a couple bug fixes that akai will probably get around to eventually.

Pad tap tempo, new loading screen, decay bug fix are all cool extras but worth $30 to me? no way. So like I said before is there going to be some more major features added for the release or something?

If you don´t think it adds something to your needs or live up to it´s price, simply don´t get it.

Bear in mind that supporting an initiative like this may stimulate this coding guy and possibly result in interesting additions and functions later on. If you are ready to take a chance it might be an investment that pays of in the long run.

Im starting to feel "open source" for the 1K and that does not mean mean free for users but free to develop on and to make small addons for small fees , i think this could be quite a interesting development in future.

what about the MODE 11 screen, chopshop coming, possible MTC etc?

regarding the Beta 11,, in TRIM I want to be able to zoom in further and the ability to do vertical zoom like the old akai samplers. It's getting there though

The best thing this OS can achieve, is to make the MPC 2500 drop in price

The retail version is not available yet, but the betas are still going strong and always need people to keep catching those bugs.

Also, $30 isn't really much when you think of it. I mean think about what else $30 gets you, a trip to the movies, a meal at red lobster, a gram of hash, a book, a half a tank of gas. These are petty in comparison to something that will make your production station more capable for it's entire life. Also, the more people buy this os, the more motivation it gives to this guy and other programmers to push the limits of MPC's or other music boxes.


*This got me thinking about modded boxes and I remembered these guys www.circuit-bent.com, who make hardware mods for the old roland boxes, speak and spells, etc... Even though this isn't the same thing as an os upgrade, it's still an example of what has been done before when thinking in this direction.

I'm quite into the new trim mode, and the zooming. Fast workflow, for me at least. I'd been thinking earlier that I'd like zoom from the main trim screen, rather than just the start/end window, and here it is. Good stuff.
