Need your opinion.

i'm thinkin of gettin the 1000 or the 2000xl, i've heard the 1000 has problems sometimes, and it needs an upgrade. which one you think i should get to start off wit?

if you you plan on using it with your computer i would say cop the
mpc 1000.

i was in the same situation you were in. Then I decided to buy an MPC1000. Unbeknownst to me, my friend bought a MPC2000xl with a cd drive accessory, and some other stuff. Let's just say when I went over to his apartment I was happy I bought my 1000. It just had more features that I would use. I seriously don't use timestretch and I never go over 100,000 notes (I don't know if anyone does-but more power to them). I use a computer and the USB is super sweet to backup stuff. Plus, you can upgrade, like I did, to 128 MB (4x more than 2000xl). Storage on compact flash is great. I say research and choose. Effects on 1000 are sweet. Need to buy separate effects board for 2000xl. Resample is excellent. I could go on and on. Research some and make a descision. So the 1000 is better for me, maybe the 2000xl is better for you.

BUT SERIOUSLY ANY MPC WILL ALLOW YOU TO MAKE FAT BEATS, IF YOU TAKE TIME AND LEARN IT.
