maybe it is only on the mpc2500, but on the 1k and the 2000xl there is only 64 midi note range :
start at 35(B0) to 98(D6) wich made 64 distinct midi note assignable to 64 pads (4 banks of 16 pads)
i was wondering myself for a long time, how could i use a wider range, since i have some samplers hooked up by midi, and their midi range is much much wider.
so actually the only things i have found, is to trigger the root key of your sound in your midi sound module, then use the internal pitch of the module to find the value you wanted. Or i play with the sound module, finding the right pitch, then resampled it to be trigger from the mpc directly (exporting the sound pitched to the mpc, in few words...).
probably the 4k doesnt have this problem since the midi engine used by the machine is the Z4/Z8, but i never had enought time on a 4k to test this.
maybe some pro users got any tips ?
another probleme i have, but i am probably not in the right section. there is some midi notes on samplers between 35 - 98 that i cant/ never get access. i will provide an exemple later, when i am back to home.
the samplers display that the midi note is simply note reconised. so i use to workaround the problem, but it will improve my workflow if some ppl got ideas
thx in advance
