does the 4k read 2000or 2XL files?

i got a song made on a 2000 or 2000XL! ... not sure about that! my quest: will the 4k load it?

ps: currently i don't run aksys, translator on my pc since its completely messed up so i can't even try! cdrw in arrive! but i could get a usb stick ... if that works!

i was able to load mpc2k files into the mpc4k with no problem only sometimes the song sequence a be little mixed up so now i make everything as one long seq because the 2k & 4k save it as a midi file and almost everything reads midi files

my concern is more about .snd and .wav, format, multi files ...! any probs regarding that?

sounds & programs should laod up no problem, I haven't used a 2k in a while so i don't know if it has a multi function but from what i can remeber you shouldn't have a problem

you know i haven't tried that but i saw a friend of mine with some kinda akai software that convert files to make them interchangable. so you might want to try akai for that software

finally i got them there!
phatz, don't know about vice versa! what i know now is that its absolutely no big deal bringin 2xl files to the 4k! didn't have to convert anyting! (it was just 1 seq) only thing to do was to reassign the parts to the respective prog!
so i suppose: multi settings might be different! and prob. you'll have to convert the wavs into snd! ... but there are surely mpc'ers who might know that better!

So the 4000 can read .SND? I'm doing a collabo with a dude that got a 4000 and I don't want to lug my 2000 to his crib, if it reads .snd then it's a wrap... that's what I wanted to hear... I always thought it read only .wav's...
