Song editing - Taking a song from mpc and laying it ...

whats the best path to take when i've already layed down sequences and made them into songs but i want to send them to p.c. i want to be able to control the breaks like if i want to drop a certain sound or bring in a sound at diffrent times i might play out a sound thru the whole song but only want to use it in certain areas.what would be the best way to keep control of the song while transferring to computer should i use the mpc's mixer to level all the instruments and send the whole song or should i lay down individual tracks on the p.c. sound by sound and then edit(and this sometimes won't come out right beacause editing on the p.c. still doesn't give the control i look for from the mpc)  any ideas, thoughts or ponders are greatly appreciated. bruknam aka b.k. barakus[/color]

I construct all my sequences on the MPC. Once I am finished, I track everything into my DAW (Cubase) and perform all mutes/fade ins/outs etc...

i use samplitude and for some reason the mute button isn't in realtime so it when it try and nute a track the mute is delayed a second or two i'm trying to learn wavelabs now could that help?

What type of sound card do you use? Maybe your getting latency. If you are having problems using your DAW, I would suggest that you make all your mutes using MPC. All you have to do is make multiple sequences and edit them (erase certain parts during sequence).

i use a prodif plus i don't think its latency because mute works in real time with other programs i've used (most of em)i'll check and see though[/color]

Digital Audio Workstation.. it's like an all in one package for recording and mixing.

Thanx for the reply..like Protools LE on a PC or wateva is considered a DAW. Thanx for breaking it down for a rook.
