Change in sound quality

I made a beat on the 1000, then transfered the midi sequences into Logic, putting all the samples into the EXS sampler. Its the same song, same samples, but when A/Bing the Logic with MPC the sound is considerably different. The track seems "fuller" on the MPC, is there anything Im doing wrong, what could be the reason for this? Thanks.

not sure what it is but somebody pmed me about this but they use reason say when they just put it in reason alone it sounds different....I have not tried yet....but i think i should....

try messin with the EQ on the Mpc ...

Were the samples filtered, pitched, enveloped etc within the MPC?

The only way to units should sound somewhat exactly similar with the same sounds is if they play the same samples / sound files without any additional processing than pitch, and the samples should be played back at the exact same level on both units. And we´re talking exact dB´s not any other scale, a volume value of 73 of the MPC might not correspond in level to a volume level of 73 on a Triton.

Your better off Tracking each track into Logic.

As someone mentioned, the EQ is probably partly responsible for this - go to the MPC's master effects section and disable the EQ and Compressor, then compare the sound of logic and the MPC.

Sounds like a long way round to me.
As someone else just said, you need to track into Logic.
Anyway, I find the EXS samplers a bit weak.
Why use the MPC if you're just gonna put it into EXS?

no i didnt eq the sounds at all, but im going to try off tracking it into logic.. as for the esx.. i dont know of any other method of transfering my beats over other than recording it into something like cool edit.. which is horrible.. any suggestions? clearly im a newb at this but thanks for help.

How are you monitoring your MPC? Stereo outs directly to your Boxes or going into pc and then monitoring from there?


If your listening to your MPC directly thru your Boxes - than the difference in sound could be the different A/D/A converters.

The ones from your MPC and the ones in your PC.

If you have a cheap soundcard in your PC - than it would be no surprise why it sounds thinner.

Everybody says track in logic but you say it sounds better in the MPC ....hmmm.......why then, should you ever bother to transfer it to Logic? If you've got SYNC, just leave it in the MPC.....My MPC tracks never make it to a DAW.....they just run in paralell with non- MIDI tracks until the 2 track mixdown....don't fcuk with success....
