2000xl to 2500

I bought a 1000 a couple weeks ago a like it. I'm thinking about trading in my 2000xl and getting a 2500 any reason why i shouldn't?

why do u have soo many mpc's in the first place?? Why not trade them all and get a 4k

I bought the 1000 so i can take it to my friend's house, he's got alot of records. But the xl doesn't load 1000 beats so correct me if I'm wrong with a 2500 a should be able to transfer beats between the 1000 and 2500 and still be able to keep my xl beats.

Why not get rid of the XL and buy something else you need?
The 1k can get the job done w/ the new O.S.
Or sell both and get the 2500.

Then just dump the XL or get a case for a 2500.
Can't really see the 1k/XL combo, would just do the 1k by itself or a 2500 and just get a case or bag to take it from place to place.

Is it something you feel the 1k can't do that makes you feel the need for the XL or 2500?
Do you really thing carry the 2500 around would be harder than the 1k?

I see the 1000 taking the place of my 2000xl and since I can load my old beats up on it I'm thinking about trading it in. The only issue I have with the 1000 is the lack of outs that's why i was considering the 2500. I would consider the 4000 but I don't know if it loads up 2000xl beats?

Just get a 2500. The 4000 will be replaced soon. They're really hard to find new at the moment.

Well just think about what you really need and avoid overlapping if you don't have to.
Certain things about the 1k are the way they are so the 2500 will appeal to certain people who have specific needs.
A 4k really isn't part of the question.
You should only look at a 4k because you wanted a 4k.
It has a lot that it can do if you want to work from a single box, but I rarely see a reason to recommend it.
Only because it's a deep box and a person has to want to get into it and make use of the features.
It's a bit different from other MPC's.
You should be Ok since you like the 1k and the 2500 is a 1k with more. so either would work for you.
Still no real reason to hold on to the XL, take advantage of the opportuniuty to weed through you XL songs and just keep what's fire.

but I fell the same way. I get rid of the xl because 1000 and xl are pretty much doing the same job. But if I get 2500 won't that be same situation?
That's why I thought of the 4000.

The 2500 is a way better machine than the XL. When we get a stable OS the 2500 is gonna be a monster. Like I said, the 4000 is almost out. Supposedly Akai has a new MPC in the works to replace the 4000.

Get the 4000. It's actually selling better than ever right now. You won't be disappointed.

Since you want to stay mobile you should keep your 1000, and if your gonna keep that the only other mpc you should have in the studio is the 2500, as the resident mpc since its the only two mpc's that are compatible back and forth.

I'm in the same position as you are actually, i've been using my 2kxl for a while now and i bought the 1000 the other week because of a good deal that came up. I think I might sell my 2kxl eventually since they are doing the same thing only the 1000 is doing it better. Only reason I would buy the 2500 is to have more comfortable production when im in my studio working long hours, otherwise the 1000 can do everything i need and more.

But I wouldn't think to much about getting another mpc, if you can't do the music you want with your mpc1000 then another mpc won't help you.

If you have a 1000 and you're happy with it, I don't see any reason to have anything else, especially not a 2500.

Personally I don't like the 1000. The system it uses is cool, but I don't like the hardware itself or the way it feels. Hence, I've got a 2500. But if you're comfortable with using the 1000, to the extent that you like it even more than your 2000XL, I think what you've got is as good as it's gonna get.
