20 effects?

Anyone else noticed when you go into the effects screen you can now assign up to 20 effects to a sound?

Those are 20 effect setups ... 20 different combinations of FX1 and FX2 types/settings, only one of which can be active at a time. Still only 2 FX can be used at the same time.

Good question I haven't really tried it out yet, I forgot it was there 'til you guys mentioned it. Just looked it up in the 2.0 manual to see what the deal is in more detail :

The effect set is a set of FX1/FX2/MAIN effect types and
their settings. Each effect set can have different settings individually.
You can switch the effect sets in the Eff field of
the SELECT page.

Tips : You can switch the effect sets within the sequence by entering
the EFFECT SELECT event to the sequence.

I knew the first bit but didn't know about the technique mentioned in that tip. That's pretty cool ... I'll be using that fo sure !

unfortunaltely, there is a little lag while playing back "effect change" events.

ok cool because i never noticed it before thought it was a error but its cleared up now.

This is a really good feature. I didn't know about it until reading the Beat Making on the 1k book.

As for useability of these other than placing effect set changes in your sequence, you can also save these effect sets using Save Entire Memory or Save All Sequences&Songs. You can then use them in other projects by going to Load mode, selecting the folder you saved the project/all file in and selecting the .all file. Pressing do it it gives you the choice of loading the effects sets saved in the file by pressing Effect (F2).

Oh yes, very nice
