How many records do you buy in a year?

I try to focus my digging around getting quality pieces. Quality over quantity, always. If I can choose between getting 3-4 records I know are quality vs 200 records just randomly stacked up, I would always go for the 3-4 quality records (I guess most diggers would do this also).

That being said, I usually buy around 20-30 records a month.

I was just going to mentioned that "Quality over Quantity"...At first when I started digging I would get anything that was cool, a dollar or free, but since I've been diggin longer I'm gettin wiser on this...At the most I'll go month without diggin..then once I can't take it anymore I'll go down, and get some dollar records, but their good scores now compared to before..I know what to look for now...I probaly own about 650-750 records..and I would say these have been accumulated over the last couple of years...Some are straight just for sampling, and some are for both, or just to listen to if theres nothing really good on there....But I definately try to make it qualitiy over quantity..You always hear ppl brag about how many records they have..To me more respect goes to the guy who has 800 dope records, than to the guy who big ups on 5,000 records..I know you guys know what I'm talkin about...

true, I own about 2000-3000 records and I would almost buy every single one of them again... I started to buy records for sampling purposes, but now I only buy good music to listen too.... since I don't sample that much any more... but I've still got a whole ghostface album on the shelf, with beats none of my friends want to touch, they are more into dark electronic sound... so ghostface if you might read this, give me a call

Thats how I'm gettin now..I buy to sample, but I like to also listen to them you know...theres some pretty ill sh!t out there if you just listen to it...And for me sampling has opened me up to alot of music that in most cases I would of never heard before...I love lookin through my records and going "Dang I have alot of dope sh!t here"....

Hmmf...have to say it depends all on the find my mans...usually grab 100 records a month....but the sayin is true..qualit over the qwanz yallllll!

damn i aint even close to going through the 600+ i already have.. so i aint buying shht until i go through what i have..

500-600 records a month is a lot of damn spending..

I just bought my 160th record this year... the wattstax album...

Me personally i buy just about anything that looks interesting. I am that guy with the 50,000 records piled up all over the house. i believe in quanity over quality for one reason it's the law of averages. Over the last few months I have trimmed the fat off of my collection. I've gotten rid of about 10,000 records. Now when i start looking through the collection i'm starting to see nothing but straight heat. I got a collection of 12in records that a dj would die for it was just this weekend trhat i was out checkin' my traps and a guy who knows i buy records showed me a box garbage @ss records i'm thinkin' to myself why is he showing me this b.s. so i start thumbin' through them and he say's gimme 8 bucks and take the whole box. so me being the quanity over quality guy i bought them through them in the truck and broke out. when i got home i sat down on the porch and started sorting through them when i was done for 8 bucks i had bought about 50 garbage @ss records and 1 Tyrone Washington "roots" and 1 twelve inch 7 minutes of funk. gimme quanity over quality anyday.

i dunno its hard to say, i buy records everyday really, if i have a 30 mins break instead of buying lunch i buy a dollor record or 3 at the thirft shop...I spend way more at shows and classifieds, I hit the swap everyweekend, and ad and garage sales....Umm i would say about 200 a month....

i try to keep my collection around 1000 - 1200. I spent nearly 10g's AUD on records in the last year, picked up alot of quality rare psych and folk.

Most of my collection is in storage too....

Every week, as a treat, I give myself 20 bucks to go and get records.
It doesn't matter If I come home with 20 records or one LP and a 45, I don't go over that 20 on the dollar amount.
My usual tactic for buying records is that if I can find three pieces of music that catch my ear on the entire record, I'm getting it.
