The MPC 1000

Damn I didnt know how easy and powerful this thing was Im really starting to learn my machine. I just started to use the Q link slider for pad parameters. I guess those long night starting and all those question starting to pay off. LOL. Its got to be the best MPC ever after the 4000.

i had a moment like that too - it's only uphill from here. mpcs tend to be pretty badass. once you learn it through and through it's like clockwork.

are you using qlink for realtime filter sweeping yet? you'll shit your pants. i don't really use that because i have an sp404 and i just like to resample from that, but man what an awesome feature

Naw I just found out what they were for other than using them for trimming down samples and adjusting start and ends points. Im really excited Im seeing result. But I still got alot of work u know. Im really getting to know my MPC. Also that tutorial helped me alot.

i've been considering picking it up. i just don't know if it would benefit me that much - i'd be curious to know if there was a lot of neat little tricks in there that i haven't discovered/explored yet.

i might buy it for the sounds, regardless.

i think there's bound to be things in there you don't know, things so simple and dope that you'll wish you'd thought of them first.

NYM that tutorial is very good. It helped understand the MPC 1000. I didnt have a clue to what all those features did. Plus it comes wit over 700 samples to add to your arsenal. It shows you tricks and many other great things. For 40 dollars thats cheap I would have alot more for it.

I recently got myself a 1000 and it's really sweet to work with, fast workflow and it's dope with compression and eq.

But i'm missing a few features from my2kxl, is it possible to select all channels in the mixer?? So you can add fx1 to all the 16 channels at once?
And when you chop in slice mode and want to move the regions, it takes forever to move it with the wheel, can this be done faster??

shift+cursors for both questions. also for fx you can hold shift and press the pads.

edited first answer due to stupidity but read on...

as for the moving regions problem, if you're talking about trim point etc. hold shift and press the left cursor.



the little white rectangles (circled in red) under the buttons are the clue. they are what the button does when the shift key is held down.

Another shortcut to selecting all 16 pads at once is pressing shift+pad bank.

Shift + cursor is helping me alot, although i really need to get used to the placement of all the buttons. When i'm slicing samples i often push the main button instead of shift, and that causes me to loose all the zones i've sliced...

Other than that the 1k is quite dope, I might even sell of my 2kxl in the future which i never though i would do!

my boy wasnt using his 1000, so i asked if i could rock it for a while and he said yeah. This machine is the sh*t! I love it really. Work flow is cool, and it was easy (as a 2000 user) to just jump on it and have fun. Only thing is i cant find where to add decay and attack to my samples. any tips? Besides that though, i might try and buy this from my friend.

Yo D... press MODE and PROGRAM (pad 7). Play the sample on the pad you assigned it to and you'll see the pad # and sample name come up on the left half of the screen. On the right half, you'll see Level, Tune, and Range. Higlight the Level for that sample and the WINDOW button will be lit. Press the WINDOW button and the Amp Envelope screen will open. Make sure you're using the 3.0 beta, since theres a bug in v2.10. Version 3 Beta 16 works really good!
