Okay, here's the problem:

I chop my drums in Recycle, normalize, and use a stretch percent of 30-35.
So, then I load the individual sounds into Soundforge and use my Ultrafunk Compressor to nice them up. I normally use the "Drum Destroyer" setting under the music presets . And they be sounding proper, nahmean?

But, when I load them up into the MP, the sounds don't sound nothing like how they did on the comp. It sounds as if the tuning was messed up during the transfer or something. They just sound like a quick blip rather than the thick ass kicks and snappy snares that I found time perfecting.

So, I wanted to know if this happens to anyone else? Is it that my sounds are beyond the range of sound (headroom??) that the MP can take? Or could it be something else?

Please let I know.

i had the same problem when exporting samples from the emu sampler. make sure the wav's are set to 44100 not 48000 sample rate. i think the mpc can't manage anything above 44100.

you know i have been noticing kinda the same thing. i use acid to cut up some beats to one hits. and as soon as i put them on a disk and put them in the mpc , they just sound real weak and thin. wierd.

Why is it that Recycle adds such a lenghty decay at the end of it's slices. I played some of my drum sounds for this other producer the other night and he was like totally disgusted with the length of the individual hits.

Anyone else ever found a problem with this??

you probably have the decay set up too high- you can turn all that sjit off and just have recycle chop your drums and leave it at that- in fact i always have all that shit turned off....
