How many 1000 owners wish they had waited and gotten a 2500?

Right....instead of doing that. LoL, its a pain. I thought this 3.0 was said to do that, I guess not.

And, as opposed to the other opinion posted before, I think you wouldn't want to lug around the 2500 with you. It is about the size and weight of a 2000XL, portability is not one of its main strength

Of course you can always carry it to a friend, gig or studio with no problem. But not the weapon of choice to sit with in a cafe and bang out beats.

Me, I wana be in my studio with my monitors and my records and my mixing desk etc etc. I guess sittin at the cafe is just a ploy to look kool and pick up chicks/guys!

Anyway, i find it funny that people worry about this when ANY MPC ever made is small and light compared to, say, a drumkit, a double bass, a guitar amp, a bass amp, etc etc...

Maybe the folk that worry about this should become singers, so all they have to worry about is the hairdo and looking sharp and chatting up the nearest woman/man and avoiding any heavy lifting at all.

I didn't bring up the portability topic...just said I don't consider it portable.

Portability is a strange thing to say any MPC isn't. I mean, come on, as I said, ANY MPC is loads more portable than alot of other musical instruments. I suppose it's open to interpritation, but even the 4000 is about the same as a Technics 1210 to carry about... ok, not 'throw it in the backpack and go down the pub', but not THAT far away.

IOW, all MPC's are portable.

Well of course it's quite compact compared to other instruments, no doubt. As I said before, no problem carrying it to a studio or a friend's place. Just wouldn't want to do it every day. And Antonym talked about "public places"...then again, I wonder what he meant, considering that no MPC can be operated on battery...

Its really quite simple. The MPC 1000 is a cheaper and smaller version of the MPC 2500. Akai or a 3rd party programmer can easily give it most of the same features as the 2500. I wish they do give the 1000 the extra features. If you don't want to spend alot of money and want a new MPC, the 1000 is a logical option. If you want more of the same thing with better hardware specs and can afford the premium for such options, go with the 2500.

Me, personally...I had no interest in a scaled down, mini-MPC. The 1000 was never a serious option. I could have never went from an MPC 3000 (in the process of trying to buy another) to an MPC 1000.

...I also agree that ALL MPCs are portable..

dude... you should save up.. then yea your gonna be regreting not geting the mpc2500.. just wait save up.. but for now.. if you dont wannna spend much.. then buy a akai midi cotroller.. its almost like an mpc.. or buy a midi keyboard..its that simple.. you dont need 2 spend much right now.. but save up.. the mpc2500 is your best choice right now.. the 1000 is great.. but the 2500 is better... but later imma save up 2.. then imma buy the 1000 so i can have 2 mpc's... one for home.. and one for on the go.. or ill just buy a midi controller keyboard...

I wish i had a 2500 the feel of it is amazin haha , i didnt have enough money for it and didnt have the patience , but if u have enough money to cop one then defenitly go out and get one u wont regret it .......i will get a 2500 soon when i make the doe
